On December 18, the day of Hainan Free Trade Port's (FTP) full-island customs closure, Sonoscape Biomedical Technology (Haikou) Co., Ltd. was officially awarded Hainan FTP's first bonded maintenance qualification for medical devices and simultaneously launched the first batch of businesses. This marks that overseas after-sales maintenance services for endoscopes by domestic enterprises have entered a new phase.
As a core enterprise in China's endoscope industry, Sonoscape Medical's products are sold to more than 170 countries and regions worldwide. Previously, due to policy restrictions, endoscope equipment sold overseas could not be shipped back to China for maintenance and had to rely on overseas maintenance systems, which suffered from problems such as long cycles, high costs, and limited technical services. With this qualification, Sonoscape Medical's global maintenance center established in Haikou National High-tech Zone can undertake maintenance services for endoscopes and related parts from regions including the EU, the United States, Latin America, and the Middle East under the customs bonded supervision framework, forming a complete business chain of "global order acceptance, Hainan-based maintenance, and global delivery."
It is understood that the first batch of maintenance business covers 25 medical endoscope parts and accessories with a total value of 49,000 US dollars. Leveraging the policy dividends and geographical advantages of the free trade port, the maintenance cycle will be shortened from the original 10-15 days to 7-10 days, and the comprehensive operating costs are expected to be reduced by 20%-30%. Meanwhile, mature domestic technical teams and core component resources can directly participate in maintenance, which not only improves maintenance accuracy but also feeds back fault analysis data to empower product R&D and iteration.
