The LED light of the endoscope camera module can be designed as a detachable structure, but multiple technical factors and application limitations need to be considered. From a technical implementation perspective, there are already mature cases in the industrial field that adopt modular design. For instance, the 5th generation replaceable photoelectric lens technology of Guantai, through standardized integrated units, supports the overall rapid replacement of lighting components and optical lenses. Its contact design and double-threaded locking structure ensure signal stability and physical reliability. Similar solutions also exist in the medical equipment field. For instance, the detachable high-definition endoscope camera integrates the LED light board, lens and lampshade within the lighting component and is connected to the main body through a threaded structure, enabling the overall disassembly and maintenance of the lighting unit.
However, there are significant challenges at the clinical application level:
Sealing and sterilization requirements : Reusable detachable parts must be strictly verified to ensure complete removal of biological contaminants (such as protein residues) after each disassembly and withstand more than 500 cycles of high-temperature sterilization without deformation or aging;
Stability risk : Frequent disassembly and assembly may cause contact oxidation, signal attenuation or seal failure, resulting in safety issues such as liquid leakage. Aerospace-grade alloy and redundant seal design are required to reduce the risk;
Regulation Limitation : The EU MDR requires that detachable illumination modules for endoscopes of Class IIb or above must provide sufficient clinical data demonstrating imaging consistency and infection control effectiveness when reassembled after disassembly.
Therefore, although this design is technically feasible, due to the high threshold of medical safety, it is currently mainly applied to industrial inspection equipment and is only adopted by high-end models with full life cycle verification in the medical field.
